Privacy Policy

Who we are

Kenivo is a product of Crafex Labs Inc., a company incorporated in Canada. References to "we," "us," and "our" in this policy refer to Crafex Labs Inc.

This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use Kenivo at kenivo.app. It applies to all users, regardless of where you are located.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address. We use magic link authentication — we do not store passwords.

Learning progress. We record which lessons you have started, your position within each lesson, quiz scores, and completion status. This is how we save your progress between sessions.

Payment information. If you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive and store a Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and subscription status. We do not store your card number, expiry date, or CVV — Stripe handles all of that.

AI tutor conversations. When you use the built-in AI tutor in a lesson, your messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. We do not store the content of tutor messages. We do store metadata about each exchange — the lesson it occurred in, whether it was a user or assistant message, and the message length in characters — for the purpose of understanding feature usage. Anthropic's own data practices apply to data processed through their API.

Usage analytics. We use Vercel Analytics and PostHog to understand how the product is used — which lessons are started and completed, where learners drop off, quiz scores, and AI tutor usage. If you are signed in, these events are associated with your account so we can understand individual learning journeys and improve the product. This data is not used to build advertising profiles.

Advertising data. We use the Meta Pixel on our marketing pages. This allows us to measure the effectiveness of advertising on Meta platforms. The pixel may collect information about your browser and activity on our site. You can opt out of Meta's tracking through Meta's own privacy settings.

How we use your information

We use your information only for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your account
• To deliver and save your learning progress
• To process subscription payments through Stripe
• To send transactional emails (magic links, payment receipts) via Resend
• To provide the AI tutor feature by relaying your messages to Anthropic's API
• To understand how the product is being used and improve it
• To measure the effectiveness of paid advertising campaigns

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers. We do not use your learning data or account data to target you with advertising.

Third-party services

Kenivo relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each has their own privacy policy:

• Supabase — authentication and database (supabase.com/privacy)
• Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy)
• Anthropic — AI tutor API (anthropic.com/privacy)
• PostHog — product analytics (posthog.com/privacy)
• Vercel — hosting and analytics (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)
• Meta — advertising pixel (facebook.com/privacy/policy)

These services may transfer and process data outside of Canada. Where this occurs, it is under data processing agreements that require appropriate protections.

Data retention

We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account exists. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes (for example, payment records may be retained for up to 7 years as required under applicable Canadian law).

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
• Withdraw consent to any processing that relies on consent
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Cookies

Kenivo uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication (to keep you logged in) and analytics. Authentication cookies are strictly necessary — the service cannot function without them. Analytics cookies can be managed through your browser settings or privacy tools.

We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or track you across other websites for commercial purposes beyond the Meta Pixel described above.

Children

Kenivo is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify account holders by email. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
